This tactile plant demands to be stroked! Known as Lamb’s Ears or Bunnies Ears, the furry foliage is a clever adaptation to cope with dry environments, making Stachys lanata an extremely useful ground-covering plant in Mediterranean gardens, gravel gardens, underplanting of shrubs and running along dry border edges.
Plants spread by creeping, rooting stems and form a mat of low-growing, evergreen silver foliage which helps to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. In summer, it bears tall, upright whorls of purple flowers which are attractive to bees. It makes an especially effective foliage foil for blue and pink flowers. Height and spread: 50cm (20in).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
