This little ground-hugging sedum forms attractive whorled rosettes of fleshy, evergreen, reddish-purple leaves covered with a white bloom. In summer it bears clusters of tiny, yellow, star-like flowers that are attractive to pollinating insects. Plant Sedum ‘Purpureum’ in gravel and allow it to form creeping evergreen carpets, or tuck it into paving cracks and rock crevices. It also makes a good addition to a succulent collection, planted up in terracotta pots with sempervivums and left on a hot sunny patio where it will happily look after itself. RHS Award of Garden Merit. Height: 10cm (4″). Spread: 30cm (12″).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
