Tight, upright stature, together with a fast growing habit makes this lavender-blue hibiscus one of the best blue varieties on the market. The flowers are fairly large and have a deep maroon blotch painted on the base of each petal, giving the overall colouring a bit of depth. Hibiscus syriacus Ultramarine ‘Minultra’ is a hardy, deciduous shrub which completes the colour range presented by other hibiscus varieties. Height: 3m (10′). Spread: 2m (6.5′).
Culinary note: The flowers can be infused to make a mildly citrus flavoured tea. The petals can be cut and added to fruit salads too. For more details about edible flowers click here.
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
