Superb, trumpet-shaped, pink-flushed white flowers with a feathered, dark red blotch at the base of each petal appear from late summer into autumn. Hibiscus syriacus ‘Shintaeyang’ is a vigorous, erect, deciduous shrub with ovate, lobed, dark-green leaves. The upright branches make this hardy plant ideal for a small space in a sunny border or large container, with moist, well-drained, slightly alkaline soil. Height: 3m (10′). Spread: 2m (6.5′).
Culinary note: The flowers can be infused to make a mildly citrus flavoured tea. The petals can be cut and added to fruit salads too. For more details about edible flowers click here.
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
