Hardworking and low-maintenance, hardy geraniums are a staple herbaceous perennial for every garden. This lovely trio is perfect for cottage garden planting schemes, bringing together three reliable, clump-forming Geranium pratense (meadow cranesbill) varieties that promise a profusion of blooms throughout summer and into autumn. The flowers are beautifully offset by attractive finely divided foliage.
Geranium Hardy Trio comprises jumbo plug plants of the following varieties:
Geranium pratense ‘Summer Skies’ – Plant swathes of this gorgeous mauve geranium in your cottage garden borders to enjoy dreamy summer skies all summer long! The beautiful double blooms may look delicate, but this hardy herbaceous perennial is tough, reliable and undemanding. Height: 90cm (36″). Spread: 60cm (24″).
Geranium pratense var. pratense f. albiflorum ‘Laura’ – Long-lasting, weather-resistant and exquisitely elegant pure white double flowers are produced from June onwards on upright, downy stems. The serrated leaves quickly create a mound of fresh green foliage that makes excellent groundcover for a cottage garden or perennial border. Height and spread: 60cm (24″).
Geranium pratense ‘Storm Cloud’ – A beautiful new variety forming a bushy mound of stunning dark bronze finely cut foliage, above which stems of vibrant purple-blue flowers bloom from June right through to October. Drought and heat tolerant, this reliable and versatile geranium combines well with other herbaceous plants in a garden border, but is equally happy in a large container. 50cm (20”) Spread: 45cm (18”).
