Strong, dark stems clothed in olive-green spiny, deeply divided leaves hold aloft globular white flowerheads, which are a magnet for pollinators. Echinops sphaerocephalus ‘Arctic Glow’ continues to have an architectural presence long after the blooms have finished and dried heads make an interesting addtion to flower arrangements. It’s a great perennial for adding distinctive spherical shapes to a border and contrasting them with upright accents such as Salvias and Agastache. Flowering later in the season, in July and August, it also adds dramatic interest at a time when border displays are often waning. Drought and heat tolerant. Height: 1m (39in). Spread: 50cm (20in).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
