Campanulas are generally not attention-grabbing plants but Campanula pyramidalis ‘Blue’ is an impressive exception which makes a dramatic statement in the garden. From basal clusters of slender leaves emerge towering spires of large, bell-shaped flowers in summer. The height of these campanulas, and their boldly outward-facing flowers, make this a very distinctive species. Although this short-lived perennial is best treated as a biennial, these statuesque plants really earn their place in the border. They can also be grown in containers where they’ll put on a fabulous display in a partly shaded site on the patio, their luminescent blooms shining out in low light.
Height: 1.5-2.5m (5-8ft). Spread 50cm (20in).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
