Bergonia masoniana is a naturally variegated species begonia boasting large, textured, leathery leaves held on furry pink stems. Each bright green leaf features a dark star shape in the centre, giving it the name iron cross begonia, and fine red hairs along the edge. This RHS award-winner makes a striking and very popular foliage houseplant that is sure to become the centre of attention. The small greenish-white flowers are a bonus! Pair with other variegated rex-type begonias such as ‘Fireworks’ or ‘Blackberry Swirl’ for a stunning foliage display. Height: 50cm (20in). Spread: 50cm (20in).
Begonias make great shade-tolerant houseplants, offering unique and beautiful foliage and flowers that appear intermittently throughout the year. They can be moved outside during the summer months.
